The aims of the course are to
１．Increase students' skills to express themselves in English.
２．Increase students’ vocabulary to discuss a variety of topics.
３．Improve conversational and discussion skills through interviews, role-plays and group discussions.
４．Improve presentation skills through content organisation, visual aids and effective speech delivery.
This class will use a communicative textbook. Students will participate in interviews, role-plays and group discussions based on the textbook topics. Students will provide constructive feedback to their classmates. Students will create and present a research project on a topic of their choice.

The teacher will give students communicative activities based around the textbook’s topics. Supplemental worksheets will be provided for some topics.

The teacher will provide regular spoken and written feedback about students’ progress.
【授業時間外に必要な学習の時間：15 時間】
Students should study the new vocabulary, prepare for discussions and presentations by researching the topic, reviewing the relevant language and practicing their speeches outside of class. All homework should be completed thoroughly and on time. For each 90 minute class session of this course, an average of 1 hour is needed for out of class study.

This course aims to develop students’ English speaking ability through communicative activities focusing on developing speaker confidence, conversation and discussion strategies and effective presentation skills.
